Ludumdare is just a couple of days away now, so I'm starting to get things ready. Work has been crazy recently, so I haven't really had much evening time for trying out tech. I did, however, learn that some of the tech I was planning to use was actually too problematic to use, so a bullet dodged right there.
Here's a list of software and hardware that I'm planning to use for this. I bet you're excited to read this! D:
- iMac 2.8ghz with Leopard OSX
- Windows Laptop - old Toshiba Portege A200 with XP
- iPod Microphone - Belkin 'tunetalk' (or maybe just the built in mic in my mac), for creating sound effects (!!)
- Unity - game development tool
- Textmate - mac text editor, used for coding
- Colloquy for IRC chatting
- CFXR - sxfr port, creates beepy 8-bit sound effects
- GarageBand - making music and filtering sound samples
- Photoshop CS4 - 14 days left on the trial version, haha.
- 3DSMAX 2009 (PC) - 3D models and animation
- gile[s] (PC) - 3D lightmaps (difficult to export though, so maybe not)
