Hama Beads + Toy Photography

least glamourous photo ever

Yesterday I had a relaxing day of shopping in town, I discovered a new toy! 'Hama Beads'!! These are an old-fashioned toy for children that I wasn't aware of before, and they're absolutely awesome for making geeky pixel-art reproductions. I'm going to order a bunch more beads (especially black) and try some more ambitious characters in the future. I might even go sixteen bit! whoo! (btw, sorry for the crappy photo!)

Also, despite the crappy hama photo, I actually figured out how to do great macro photography on my new camera. This makes me very happy. The results are excellent, as you can see here (the figure is only a few inches tall, yet the detail is crazy). I'm more and more impressed with my camera all the time, it's pretty satisfying when a piece of technology turns out to be everything you hoped for. I'm especially liking the fact that it takes AA batteries and uses SD-cards, both things are working well in my favour and I'm always able to take photos without a moment's notice.

I have a lot more to say on my journal, I need to start updating more. ^^
Right, time to start working on comic pages. *fires up manga studio*
