Today, on the way to work, my bike well and truly fucked itself.



This morning started off pretty well, with me setting off to work at 8:30 with plenty of time to get to work. However, whilst I was cycling up Victoria Avenue, my chain came off. This isn't usually a problem, and sometimes it even goes right back on whist cycling, but this time it managed to get tangled in the mechanism and pull the whole thing off!! It's fucked, basically. Curses. So I walked it to the nearest bike shop, which happened to be where I bought the piece of shit.

Apparently I'm 'lucky' and it will only cost about £30 to get repaired, but frankly... I'm pretty sick of this bike. It's been a nightmare since I first got it and it has never worked 100% satisfactorily. I've also been told it will be a whole week before it can be fixed... so I'm thinking of buying a new one tonight from Station Cycles. I really can't afford a new bike at the moment, but I don't really fancy super long bus journeys for the next seven days either, especially if I'm working late.

There's no convenient way for me to take my from where it is now to the bike shop. I think I might walk with it to the bike shop and see if I can part-ex the wreckage for a new bike. It's a four mile walk though. Bugger. Thankfully the shop is open until 8pm so I should be fine to leave work and get there on time.

On a brighter note, literally, the weather is awesome today. ^_^
