Froggy Progress

I had a pretty relaxing evening last night, with most of the time spent working on my Frog Girl game. There's not really much to show from the progress, as of course lots of the time is spent solving problems or simply trying to figure out how to program! Nevertheless, I managed to get a couple of things working that were previously causing me problems, and there's one less thing for me to worry about.

I'm working on my laptop most of the time, which also serves as a great way of realising when the game is too slow. The laptop only has a crappy on-board video, but I hope for my game to be low-tech enough to run on that regardless, so it's a good testing machine. I notice pretty quickly when the framerate drops! When working in 3D it's pretty easy to make the game grind to a halt with some bad code. ^_^ Hopefully keeping it low-ish tech should make it quicker to produce as well.

So, I need to figure out some easy way to implement (and present) pathfinding, or hack some overelaborate existing code into place. I also need to model some environment stuff, so I at least have one area that can use, and get some character animation (even placeholder) for the main character.

My plan is to have the game playable in some form by the end of the year. That might even just be one level in worst case scenario, but it'll be playable, so that's the goal. I need to be certain to keep working on it, even though I'm working on other stuff.
